You’d think a superstar turned CM would jump at the chance to double‑dip in promotion, but Jason Sanjay says his dad’s busy with state affairs.
At the Telugu press meet, he shot down the question about a joint promo tour. ‘I want the promotion to be about the film and I don’t want that to overlap,’ he said, pointing out that Vijay’s CM duties are a full‑time job.
But the father’s enthusiasm is still palpable. ‘He’s waiting for the release and will be there to watch it, no doubt,’ Jason added, and a quick glance at Vijay’s face in the photo suggests he’s already buzzing.
Jason’s path to the director’s chair wasn’t a straight line either. He confided that he had to convince his closest circle—parents, sister, friends—before taking the leap, and the encouragement he received from industry heavyweights like Vijay Sethupathi and Soori only cemented his resolve.
Sigma, a fresh drama starring Sundeep Kishan and built by Lyca Productions, is slated to hit theaters in late October. Jason also hinted at two or three new story ideas brewing, promising a potential follow‑up once the film’s first wave of feedback settles.
So, while Vijay stays out of the spotlight, the film’s launch still carries a quiet political weight, and fans can look forward to a debut that’s as much a family affair as it is a cinematic one.
