Israeli Air Strike Kills Son of Hamas Chief Negotiator

An Israeli air strike has killed the son of Hamas' chief negotiator, Khalil Al-Hayya, in an attack on Wednesday night, according to a senior Hamas official. Azzam Al-Hayya, the son of Khalil Al-Hayya, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday after being struck in the attack.
The Israeli military did not respond to a request for comment on the incident.
Khalil Al-Hayya, who has seven children, has survived multiple Israeli attempts to kill him, including a strike in Doha last year that killed one of his sons.
The incident comes as leaders of Hamas and other Palestinian factions held talks with regional mediators and the US envoy, Nickolay Mladenov, in Cairo, to push forward with US President Donald Trump's Gaza plan.
The talks aim to implement the second phase of the plan, which involves Israeli troops withdrawing from Gaza and reconstruction starting as Hamas lays down its weapons. The court will resume hearing on the implementation of the plan, with Hamas officials stating that they will not engage in serious talks before Israel concludes its obligations stemming from the first phase of the Gaza deal.
