On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the home of veteran BJP stalwart LK Advani in New Delhi, marking the 25th anniversary of his tenure as chief of government.
Modi’s 25‑year tenure began when he was sworn in as Gujarat Chief Minister on 7 October 2001, before ascending to the national stage in May 2014.
Advani, who served as Home Minister from 1999 to 2004 and as Deputy Prime Minister from 2002 to 2004, has long been a pillar of the party.
Modi thanked Advani for his decades of public service and said the elder leader had left a "lasting imprint" on the nation’s progress. He also sought Advani’s blessing for his continued work.
Across the country, BJP leaders staged Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabhas and torch rallies as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Union Minister JP Nadda held a rally in Greater Noida, while Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lit a torch in Uttarkashi.
Modi pledged to intensify the Viksit Bharat 2047 agenda, with a national rally slated for Friday to rally support for the vision.
