AMMK chief T.T.V. Dhinakaran on Friday accused Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of submitting a forged xerox copy of a support letter from AMMK MLA-elect Kamaraj to the Governor of Tamil Nadu, alleging document tampering in the ongoing government formation process. Dhinakaran claimed he presented the original letter supporting Edappadi Palaniswami as CM candidate and said the Governor had requested the authentic document after TVK's submission, prompting the AMMK to threaten legal action for forgery.
TVK issued a rebuttal late Friday, releasing video footage it said showed Kamaraj personally writing the letter of support and declaring he did so with the approval of Dhinakaran. The party dismissed the forgery claims as misinformation, stating the visuals prove the letter was composed voluntarily and that TVK does not need to negotiate or bargain for support.
TVK, which won 108 seats in the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, is seeking support from smaller parties including AMMK and VCK to reach the 118-seat majority mark. Dhinakaran stated AMMK would now consolidate support from other parties and resubmit fresh documents to the Governor. The Governor is expected to review claims and invite the eligible alliance to form the government in the coming days.
