Man Arrested Near Prince Andrew's Sandringham Estate Over Public Order Offence
A man was arrested near Prince Andrew's Sandringham residence on Wednesday evening after reports of intimidating behaviour in the village of Wolferton, Norfolk Police said. The suspect was detained on suspicion of committing a public order offence and possessing an offensive weapon.
The incident occurred on public land near a pathway surrounding the Sandringham Estate, where security measures are often heightened due to the presence of members of the British royal family connected to King Charles III.
According to reports, Prince Andrew was accompanied by a member of his private security team at the time of the incident and was seen moving quickly towards a nearby vehicle before leaving the area.
Buckingham Palace and representatives for Prince Andrew have declined to comment on the arrest, which has renewed attention on security concerns surrounding members of the royal family.
The suspect was taken to King’s Lynn police station for questioning, with Norfolk Police continuing investigations on Thursday; the police are expected to provide further updates as the inquiry progresses.
