Bodies of Shamsuddin and his wife were discovered at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday in a pool of blood at their Sadabad Kotwali residence, a short distance from the Agra bypass. Residents reported the house was locked and raised an alarm after the door remained closed.
Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha and Circle Officer Yogendra Krishna Narayan arrived with a squad of officers, deploying a dog unit to track potential evidence. Forensic specialists were called in immediately, and a preliminary assessment suggested the victims were struck by a sharp-edged weapon.
Shamsuddin retired from the Indian Army about two decades ago and had lived alternately with his two wives; he was staying with Saddo Begum at the time of the incident. His service record and the circumstances of his retirement were noted by investigators as potential leads.
The motive remains unclear, prompting the police to establish five specialized teams to trace suspects and unravel the sequence of events. Legal proceedings are in the planning stages, with the case slated for prosecution once the investigative work concludes.
