Central Government Lauds Telangana for Transport Reforms
The Telangana government has received appreciation from the Central government for its pro-active measures in transport reforms and road safety. In a letter to Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari praised the state's initiatives such as the abolition of transport check posts and integration of Vahan and Sarathi platforms.
The Union Minister commended Telangana's efforts in promoting sustainable mobility and conducting public awareness programmes during the national road safety month.
Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the state was a pioneer in promoting the usage of electronic vehicles by abolishing registration charges.
The court or further official responses are not applicable in this context, however, the Telangana government is expected to continue its efforts in transport reforms and road safety, with the Central government's appreciation likely to boost its initiatives.
