Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the U.S.-led campaign against Iran remains unresolved, asserting that Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium must be physically removed and its enrichment sites dismantled. In a May 10, 2026, interview aired on CBS News' '60 Minutes,' Netanyahu stated, 'It’s not over, because there’s still nuclear material — enriched uranium — that has to be taken out of Iran.'
While not disclosing military options, Netanyahu said the uranium could be removed through an agreement, adding, 'You go in and you take it out.' He claimed U.S. President Donald Trump privately shared this view, citing Trump as saying, 'I want to go in there,' though Trump has publicly maintained Iran’s nuclear program is contained and the country is 'militarily defeated.'
Netanyahu identified other unmet objectives, including dismantling Iran’s ballistic missile production and ending its support for proxy forces like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. He confirmed China provides technical support for Iran’s missile manufacturing, though he declined to elaborate.
Netanyahu reiterated support for phasing out U.S. military aid to Israel, currently $3.8 billion annually, calling for a decade-long transition to zero dependence. He stopped short of predicting the collapse of Iran’s regime but said it would dismantle the network of Iranian-backed militias if it occurred. The White House has not commented on Netanyahu’s remarks.
