TVS Motor Company announced on Wednesday that it will demerge its consumer‑finance investments into a new listed holding company, with the split slated for July 20, 2027. The move will see the company transfer its stake in TVS Credit Services and other non‑core assets to the new entity, which will be listed on the NSE and BSE.
Under the demerger plan, current TVS Motor shareholders – including promoters and public investors – will receive an equal number of shares in the new company, in proportion to their holdings.
Sudarshan Venu, chairman of TVS Motor, said the split will grant both businesses greater strategic autonomy and allow capital to be deployed according to each segment’s growth priorities.
The company is also consolidating its NBFC operations in line with an RBI directive, with the final integration expected by March or April 2027, ahead of the July demerger date.
A small‑scale farmer who has received multiple financing packages from TVS Credit Services noted that the new structure could streamline loan approvals, easing access to credit for rural entrepreneurs.
