Vijay’s unplanned exit comes as the state delegation remains in the UK, having already inked memoranda of understanding worth roughly Rs 12,300 crore. The agreements aim to position Tamil Nadu as Asia’s premier advanced manufacturing and technology hub, with an expected creation of more than 9,400 high‑value jobs.
The delegation is scheduled to wrap up its tour and return to India on Wednesday. Although the meet was canceled, officials say negotiations will continue, and the state expects the investment drive to deliver tangible economic benefits.
