Gachibowli police have arrested two 19-year-old men for a series of mobile phone thefts from hostels in Hyderabad, recovering 54 stolen phones valued at approximately ₹2.5 lakh. The accused, identified as Mohammed Sahil and Bandari Vinod, are residents of Mandula Basti, Langer Houz.
Police stated that 19 of the recovered phones were directly linked to five registered theft cases, while the remaining 35 were traced to unreported incidents across different locations within the Gachibowli jurisdiction. The duo allegedly targeted hostel residents, exploiting unsecured living conditions to steal mobile devices.
The accused were produced before a magistrate, who ordered them remanded to judicial custody. The court has scheduled the next hearing for May 12, 2026.
