RIICO, PWD to Jointly Develop 38 Roads in Rajasthan's Industrial Areas
The Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) and the Public Works Department (PWD) will jointly develop 38 roads in industrial areas across the state to improve connectivity for factories and manufacturing units. The project, announced on May 6, 2026, will be executed on a 50-50 cost-sharing basis, covering approximately 205 km of approach roads with an estimated cost of Rs.290 crore.
The roads, which link industrial zones to state highways, will facilitate smoother transportation of raw materials and finished goods. Industrial areas in Abu Road, Ajmer, Balotra, Banswara, Bharatpur, Bhilwara, Churu, Dausa, Jaipur, Jalore, Jhalawar, Kota, Neemrana, Sawai Madhopur, Sriganganagar, and Udaipur will benefit from the upgrade.
The PWD will carry out the construction and widening works, with RIICO already approving its share of Rs.37 crore for a Rs.74 crore project in Bhiwadi for highway widening and drainage. This model will be replicated across the 38 identified road segments.
Officials stated the improved infrastructure aims to boost industrial efficiency and logistics performance across Rajasthan. The PWD will continue implementing the projects with fund disbursement tied to progress under the joint funding framework.
