Pune police are investigating the alleged secret marriage of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary at Khatu Shyam Temple, Rajasthan, after Ketan Agarwal was murdered on June 18. The case links a fort‑side homicide to a rumored wedding ceremony that could undermine the scheduled nuptial between Goyal and Agarwal.
Ketan Agarwal, a 32‑year‑old entrepreneur from Pune, was found dead after being pushed off the cliffs of Lohagad fort on 18 June. Goyal and Chaudhary were arrested two days later, as police linked phone conversations to a December 2025 wedding plan.
Police recovered a mobile‑phone photo showing Goyal and Chaudhary wearing floral garlands—a ritual item typically used in Hindu marriages. The image, now part of the chargesheet, sparked the inquiry into whether the couple had clandestinely married at the temple.
A special team from Pune Rural Police travelled to Rajasthan in July to interrogate witnesses and search temple records. They have yet to locate an official registration or any CCTV footage, but the investigation remains ongoing, with a court hearing slated for July 15 to decide on the photo’s admissibility.
Neighbors in the temple’s vicinity recall the couple’s visit, noting the absence of a stamp or official ceremony. The pending court decision could affect the legal status of Goyal’s intended wedding with the late Agarwal’s family.
