Two TVK Supporters Injured in Firecracker-Related Altercation in Tamil Nadu
Two supporters of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) were injured in a physical altercation with a neighbour in Annandapatti village near Jolarpet, Tamil Nadu, following a dispute over firecrackers burst to celebrate the party's victory in the recent Assembly elections. The incident occurred on Monday evening on a public road where the celebrations were underway.
The injured have been identified as S. Kumar, 30, and his brother S. Pradeep, 26, local TVK members. Police said the confrontation began when C. Dhanasekar, 29, returning home from work, was reportedly hit by a firecracker and objected to the noise and obstruction on the village road. An argument escalated into a fight, during which the two brothers sustained injuries.
Jolarpet police responded to the scene, examined the area, and arranged for the injured to be taken to Government Taluk Hospital in Tirupattur. A formal case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the exact sequence of events and establish responsibility.
