Jio Platforms, a Reliance Industries subsidiary, will offer up to 27 crore equity shares in its debut listing, slated to open on 21 Oct 2026 and close on 23 Oct. The issue will be free of existing shareholder sales.
BSE member Ramesh Damani highlighted the company’s scale, noting that in just ten years Jio grew from zero to a market‑ready entity. He pointed to the platform’s reach of around 550 million customers—nearly a third of India’s population—as a testament to its execution prowess.
Damani underscored that telecom value is shifting beyond basic connectivity toward platform‑based services. With its global‑scale infrastructure, Jio could monetize through data‑centric offerings, fintech, and digital media, potentially diversifying revenue streams.
The market will watch Jio’s valuation closely, especially after Vodafone Idea’s 2021 IPO, which raised ₹9,000 cr and attracted mixed investor sentiment. Analysts anticipate that Jio’s larger customer base and technology moat may justify a higher price‑to‑earnings multiple.
Going forward, the company aims to raise funds to fuel its 5G rollout and ecosystem expansion. Investors will look for guidance on share pricing and dilution effects, as the listing could set a new benchmark for telecom companies in India.
