Thirty-nine students from Kerala and Lakshadweep departed for Jammu on May 8 to participate in an 11-day cultural exchange under the Yuva Sangam initiative, part of the central government's Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign. The delegation, flagged off by IIM-Kozhikode Director Debashis Chatterjee, includes 38 students from all 14 districts of Kerala and one delegate from Lakshadweep, and will travel to Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh to explore the region's cultural and social heritage.
The exchange is a collaboration between IIM-Kozhikode and IIM-Jammu under Phase VI of Yuva Sangam, aimed at fostering national integration among youth. The group includes 21 male and 18 female participants from undergraduate, postgraduate, and off-campus backgrounds.
In the reciprocal leg, a 50-member student delegation from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh will visit Kerala from May 28 to June 5, 2026, hosted by IIM-Kozhikode. The visiting students will undertake exposure trips across Kerala to experience its cultural and natural landscape.
The programme was officially launched in Kozhikode on Friday, with IIM-K administration overseeing logistical coordination. The Kerala leg of the exchange is scheduled to begin on May 28, 2026.
