Drone Operations Banned in Key Hyderabad Areas Ahead of PM Modi's Public Meeting

Hyderabad police have banned the operation of drones, para-gliders and remotely controlled micro-light aircraft over parts of the city ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public meeting at Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Sunday, May 10, 2026. The restriction applies from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. across the jurisdiction of Begumpet, Bowenpally and Marredpally police stations.
The order, issued by Ch. Sridhar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri Zone, prohibits all flying activities involving remotely controlled devices regardless of capacity. Authorities cited security concerns related to the Prime Minister's visit as the reason for the airspace restrictions.
The notification warns that any violation will result in legal action under applicable provisions of law. Enforcement will remain in effect for the full 24-hour period on May 10, with police monitoring compliance in the affected zones.
