A 17-year-old teenager, identified as Byagari Sricharan, was found dead in the Nanajipur stream near Shamshabad on Saturday, a day after he went missing following a visit to a relative's housewarming ceremony. Police confirmed the discovery after villagers alerted them to a body floating in the stream.
Sricharan, a resident of Edhulanagulapally village in Sangareddy district, had accompanied his family to Nanajipur village in RC Puram mandal on Friday. According to police, he left the house on a motorcycle around noon on Saturday after asking his brother he was stepping out, following a brief exchange with his father over money. His phone later went unanswered.
Family members traced his motorcycle parked near a Hanuman temple adjacent to the stream. After failing to locate him, they filed a missing person complaint at Shamshabad police station. The body was recovered shortly after villagers noticed it in the water.
Police shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination. Officers have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, with no foul play confirmed yet.
