Nifty Bank slid to 54,900 as the market digested the Jio Platforms IPO band announcement, staying within the 54,500‑55,700 corridor.
The weekly expiry on 28th October is set to be a pressure point, with 25 earnings slated for release—from Jio Financial Services to Nestle India.
Reliance Industries' disclosure of its Jio Platforms price band has sparked volatility, while CSB Bank and IDBI Bank reacted sharply to disinvestment news, pushing their shares up 1.2% and down 0.8% respectively.
A sustained move above 22,800 could lift Nifty back to 23,000, but any dip below 22,550 would trigger a risk‑off sentiment, as traders weigh the weekly expiry ramifications.
Market participants are monitoring overnight developments, anticipating the next trading session to either confirm the breakout or tighten the support zones, with analysts betting on a cautious approach until the expiry clears.
