A 24-year-old recovery agent, Adit Pandey, was found dead in Balapur under suspected murder early Sunday, with police attributing the killing to a territorial dispute in the vehicle recovery business. Pandey, a native of Lucknow and employee of a Hyderabad bank, was last seen with a fellow recovery agent, identified as Munna, hours before his death.
Police said Munna had allegedly warned Pandey against operating in areas he controlled, and investigators believe Munna took Pandey on his bike between midnight and 3 a.m., then bludgeoned him to death. The victim's body was recovered, and a postmortem has been ordered to determine the exact cause and time of death.
Balapur police have registered a murder case and launched a search operation to apprehend Munna. The victim’s family has also pointed to Munna’s involvement, corroborating police suspicions.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are collecting evidence to reconstruct the sequence of events. The court will take cognizance of the case following the submission of preliminary findings.
