Urvil Patel Smashes Record-Breaking 65 Runs in IPL Match

Urvil Patel smashed 65 runs off just 23 balls, including eight sixes, and equalled the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history by reaching the milestone in only 13 balls during Chennai Super Kings’ clash against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. The innings was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Urvil approached Dhoni for guidance after failing to convert good starts in earlier matches, and Dhoni advised him to trust his natural attacking game and stay clear of self-doubt.

According to Urvil, Dhoni said, 'I don't have any doubt in your skill, whatever doubt is there it is in your mind so just stay clear and try to hit the right ball at the right place.'

Urvil dedicated his maiden IPL fifty to his father and also credited CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad for helping him quickly understand the pitch conditions before the explosive knock. The court will not be involved in this matter, but the IPL will continue with its schedule, with the next matches to be played according to the IPL Schedule.
