GIFT Nifty’s single‑day turnover surged to $23.67 billion, eclipsing the $23.48 billion peak from February 20, 2026, while open interest climbed to $21.87 billion, a new high that surpasses the $21.56 billion record from June 25, 2026.
Since its full‑scale launch on July 3, 2023, the platform has accumulated $3.52 trillion in turnover and executed 76.19 million contracts, a compound growth that outpaces the sector’s average 18% annual volume expansion.
NSE International Exchange, the operator of GIFT Nifty, highlighted that the exchange’s growing trading volume is a result of regulatory exemptions that allow U.S. investors to trade derivatives on the platform, expanding the global footprint beyond India’s 11 crore local participants.
The record session came a day after the National Stock Exchange listed on the BSE, where its shares opened at ₹1,800—just a 0.84% premium over the ₹1,785 issue price—stimulating investor sentiment across the market.
Analysts anticipate that GIFT Nifty will continue to ride the momentum, with the exchange planning to launch additional primary‑market products such as REITs and InvITs, and expecting a gradual rise in daily turnover to $30 billion by year‑end.
