India’s mixed 4x400m relay squad—TS Manu, MR Poovamma, Vishal TK and Vithya Ramraj—clocked 3:14.46 to snag silver, the country’s third consecutive medal in the event after gold in 2018 and silver in 2022. Bahrain edged them with a Games‑record 3:12.87, while Japan trailed behind.
Seema broke the long drought in women’s 10,000m, hauling a bronze in 32:50.05, India’s first women’s 10,000m medal since 2010. She finished behind Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi and Japan’s Nozomi Tanaka.
Roshibina Devi Naorem added another silver in the women’s 60kg sanda, losing 0‑2 to China’s Zhang Xiaoyu. It was her second straight Asian Games silver, following a bronze in 2018 and a silver in 2023.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Parinaaz Dhaliwal took home a historic bronze in the mixed team skeet, India's first medal in that category. The pair joined the men’s and women’s team crews that had also captured bronze.
In men’s double sculls, Satnam Singh and Salman Khan finished third in 6:13.25, securing India’s inaugural medal in that event.
With 17 medals—one gold, seven silver and nine bronze—India sits 15th in the Asian Games 2026 standings. The next day, the country will push to add more medals in the remaining athletics, shooting and other disciplines.
