Iranian Ultra-Hardliners Intensify Opposition to Nuclear Talks with US

Iran's ultra-hardline faction, Jebhe-ye Paydari, has intensified its opposition to the ongoing nuclear talks between Iran and the US, stating that Tehran should only secure a deal by defeating Washington. The faction, described as Super Revolutionaries, has emerged as one of the loudest opponents of any agreement with Washington, using media campaigns, speeches, parliament interventions, and large street rallies in Tehran to pressure the government.
According to Hamidreza Azizi at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, the faction views resistance against the US and Israel as an eternal fight and believes in a Shia state that needs to continue until the end of times.
The faction's rise has become more visible after the death of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei earlier this year, with its members accusing Iran's negotiators of crossing the regime's red lines and warning that the talks could cause immense damage to Iran.
The Iranian government will likely face increased pressure from the faction as negotiations continue, with the Endurance Front holding influence in politics, religious institutions, and state media. The immediate next steps for the government include addressing the faction's concerns and maintaining unity during the negotiations, with the talks set to resume in the coming weeks.
