Back in 1991, SRK told the Deccan Herald that the death of his mother, Lateef Fatima Khan, was the catalyst that turned his aversion to cinema into a burning ambition.
He had been a television actor in the 1989 series Fauji, but the world of silver screens was alien to him. After his mother passed in 1990, he signed his first film deals in 1991, leading to his Bollywood launch with 'Deewana' in 1992.
SRK scoffed at formal acting schools, insisting that observation and trial‑and‑error were his real tutors. "I learned by watching bad actors and seeing how they mess up," he mused, adding that nobody can teach you how to act; it has to be inside you.
Now, the superstar is gearing up for Siddharth Anand’s 'King', slated for December 24, a new chapter that echoes his early drive to honour his mother’s wish.
