Shares of KEC International tumbled 14% to ₹317.25, setting a 52‑week low, shortly after the company announced a fresh ₹1,006 crore order book.
The new deals include a 400‑kV transmission line in Oman, tower and pole supplies for the Americas, and a repeat contract to build a multispeciality hospital in eastern India, boosting the civil business.
Vimal Kejriwal, CEO, said the Oman project diversifies the firm’s West‑Asian exposure while the hospital order strengthens its healthcare construction portfolio.
Year‑to‑date orders now hit ₹10,600 crore, up from ₹9,586 crore at the end of the previous quarter.
Market‑wide, KEC shares are down 62% from the 52‑week high of ₹858.80, having closed higher in only two of the last ten sessions.
Analysts note that the company’s order pipeline looks solid, but the current bearish trend and a slower‑than‑expected earnings report next month could keep the stock under pressure.
The next earnings call, slated for early December, will likely focus on cash‑flow impacts from the new contracts and guidance for the upcoming quarter.
