IHCL closed 0.58% lower at ₹711.50 on the NSE on Oct 12, after the company announced it had opened 20 hotels and signed 47 new contracts in H1 FY27, raising its portfolio to 670 properties.
The 280‑hotel pipeline positions the group on track to hit its Accelerate 2030 target of 700 hotels sooner than planned, said executive VP Suma Venkatesh.
The expansion covers a mix of brands—four Taj, one Brij, one Atmantan in the luxury segment and 19 mid‑scale signings across Ginger and Tree of Life—allowing IHCL to grow through both capital‑intensive and low‑capex models.
Industry data shows room demand grew 8.6% in H1, outpacing a 3.9% rise in supply, a gap that has helped hotels lift average room rates in key markets such as Mumbai, Goa and Rajasthan.
CEO Puneet Chhatwal said the company expects revenue growth to exceed guidance, targeting 12‑14% for FY27 and anticipating a strong second half driven by festivals, weddings and overseas openings, including new Taj hotels in Frankfurt and Kruger.
With shares trading just below ₹712, investors are watching whether the expansion translates into higher EBITDA margins, as IHCL continues to balance growth with profitability.
