Bianca Rampartap’s fight over child support hit a new milestone when a Florida appeals court ruled that her new husband’s $8,600 monthly household payments cannot be treated as her income.
The court explained that the payments were made to cover the family’s living costs and were not direct transfers to Bianca. It quoted the rule that when a spouse pays for shared expenses, those funds do not qualify as income for the other spouse. The judgment explicitly noted that no ‘payment,’ in kind or otherwise, had been made to her.
Under the new calculation, Darryl Rampartap will owe $403 in monthly child support starting July 2025 and must also reimburse $1,953.38 for arrears dating back to August 2024.
Bianca, who now holds full custodial authority after her former husband abandoned overnight care, has said the decision relieves her financial burden. The case underscores how spousal contributions are scrutinized in child‑support determinations. An enforcement hearing is slated for September, when the court will order the former husband to comply with the revised payment schedule.
