Himanta Biswa Sarma Reappointed Assam Chief Minister, Oath Scheduled for May 12

Himanta Biswa Sarma has been reappointed as Chief Minister of Assam after being elected leader of the BJP Legislature Party and the NDA Legislature Party. The decision follows the conclusion of the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections, in which the BJP-led alliance secured a majority.
