CPI General Secretary D. Raja Expresses Concern Over Left's Declining Electoral Strength
CPI General Secretary D. Raja said on Friday that the depletion in the electoral strength of Left parties is a matter of concern, expressing hope that it revives and re-emerges as a significant political force in the future. Raja warned that the BJP forming a government in West Bengal poses challenges not just for the state but for the entire country.
Raja stated that the Left parties need to work hard, reach out to the people, and strengthen their class and mass organizations to regain a reasonable presence in state assemblies and Parliament.
The CPI leader also discussed the party's stance on supporting the TVK in Tamil Nadu, saying that a decision would be made soon and that the party wants a stable government that upholds secular democratic values.
The CPI's state executive is meeting in Tamil Nadu to discuss the issue, and Raja said the party's position would be clear by the evening. The CPI will soon decide its stand on whom to support in Tamil Nadu, with Raja emphasizing the need for the governor to invite the single largest party, TVK, to form the government and follow established practices and conventions.
