Acutaas Chemicals shares surged 12% on Tuesday, hitting an intraday high of ₹3,723.5 before closing near its 52‑week peak of ₹3,740. The rally followed a Q2 report that saw revenue climb 42.8% YoY to ₹437 crore and EBITDA rise 86.3% to ₹177 crore, both eclipsing analysts’ expectations.
The company’s investor presentation revealed a sharpened outlook: FY27 revenue growth guidance has been nudged up from 25% to 30%, and EBITDA margin guidance lifted to a 38‑40% range from the prior 38% level. These revisions come after a margin expansion to 40.5% in the quarter, up from 31% a year earlier.
Management pinpointed the lift to sustained momentum in its Pharmaceutical Intermediates arm, while the Specialty Chemicals segment lagged. The CDMO and advanced intermediate businesses drove robust growth, whereas commodity chemicals were gradually phased out as part of a strategic realignment.
The stock’s year‑to‑date performance is striking: gains of 104% and a multiple of over 5x its ₹610 IPO price. Investors are already re‑pricing expectations as the company signals stronger profitability and a clearer path to a debt‑free balance sheet by mid‑year.
Looking ahead, Acutaas will report Q3 on November 15, with analysts eyeing any further margin tightening or expansion. The company’s board has also hinted at potential capacity additions in its core segments, which could underpin the updated guidance.
In a market that has been wobbling on commodity price swings, Acutaas’s results provide a rare bright spot, suggesting that niche chemical players can still outpace the broader sector when they focus on high‑margin intermediates.
