Bengaluru City Police Holds Awareness Session to Tackle Mobile Addiction
The Bengaluru City Police held an awareness session on Thursday for officers and staff from the North East Division to tackle mobile addiction, under the directions of the Bengaluru City Police Commissioner. The session, led by Well-Being Officer Wazeera Begum, explained the psychological, physical, and social effects caused by excessive smartphone usage.
The programme discussed key issues such as nomophobia, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and the harmful effects of blue light on eyesight and sleep patterns.
Police personnel were advised to limit unnecessary mobile phone usage, focus on one task at a time, and control notifications, as well as participate in outdoor activities and spend quality time with family members.
The session concluded with the message that technology should remain under human control and not control people’s lives, and officials stressed the importance of following the 20-20-20 rule to maintain eye health. The court will resume hearing on the matter is not applicable in this case, however, the Bengaluru City Police will continue to monitor the situation and take necessary steps to address mobile addiction among personnel.
