T.T.V. Dhinakaran, leader of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), accused the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of submitting a forged letter to the Governor on Friday, claiming it has the support of his party's lone MLA-elect, S. Kamaraj. The letter was allegedly submitted in an attempt to claim the backing of the AMMK for the TVK in the formation of the new Tamil Nadu government.
Dhinakaran stated that the TVK submitted a photocopy of the forged letter, which was claimed to be a WhatsApp message, and left when the Governor asked for the original. He said a police complaint will be lodged against the issue.
Earlier in the day, Dhinakaran had submitted a letter to the Governor extending support to AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, urging him to be invited to form the government. The letter contained the signatures of Dhinakaran and Kamaraj.
The incident has added to the uncertainty surrounding the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu, with various parties extending their support to different leaders. The court is not involved in this case, but the Governor will continue to assess the situation and decide on the next steps for government formation.
