TVK Leader Vijay Seeks VCK and Left Support to Form Tamil Nadu Government
Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay on Thursday formally reached out to the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) and Left parties to seek their support in forming the next government in Tamil Nadu. The outreach included a direct telephone call and a formal letter from the actor-turned-politician to VCK president Thol. Thirumavalavan.
Thirumavalavan confirmed the development following a meeting at the Communist Party of India (CPI) office, stating that the VCK is currently in consultations with frontline leadership. TVK general secretary ‘Bussy’ Anand and leader Aadhav Arjuna also held discussions with CPI leader M. Veerapandian to consolidate support for the TVK-led bid.
CPI leadership emphasized that individual members cannot finalize political alliances without organizational approval. The party indicated that any decision regarding government formation would be made collectively with other Left entities and the VCK after assessing the political landscape.
The State councils of both the CPI and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) are scheduled to meet on May 8 to deliberate on the TVK’s request. A formal decision from the allied bloc is expected following these internal sessions.
