Triumph Tiger 900 Launches at ₹14.9 Lakh, 106 bhp Engine

The new Tiger 900 comes with an 888‑cc triple that delivers 106 bhp, up from the current 100 bhp found in earlier models. It also gets a lighter, more rigid chassis and a standard semi‑active suspension that keeps the ride smooth on long rides.

The Tiger 1200, meanwhile, pushes the envelope with a 1,200‑cc triple that now churns out 148 bhp and 130 Nm of torque. Its upgraded suspension is the most sophisticated yet, drawing on technology used in high‑end touring bikes, while a suite of rider‑assist electronics is standard.

In the adventure‑touring segment, the Tiger 900 will be measured against KTM 790 Adventure and Yamaha FJR1300. Those riders who favour a lighter, more nimble machine might lean toward the Tiger, whereas the 1200’s higher power and refined suspension make it a direct rival to Ducati Multistrada 1262 and KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

Both models are slated for India in the first half of 2027, following their international reveals on 27 Oct 2026 (Tiger 1200) and 15 Dec 2026 (Tiger 900). Import duties and dealer network expansion will dictate the exact launch window, but early‑bird deals on the current Tiger 900 and 1200 are likely to be pushed out as the new bikes arrive.

Keep an eye on the final price confirmation, the presence of a fully digital instrument cluster, and the size of the boot space, as these are the details that will tip the scales for serious buyers. The launch will also bring a new after‑sales package, which could affect long‑term ownership costs.
