Kapil Sharma Backs Daler Mehndi Amid Surgery Rumors and Alcohol Allegations

Kapil Sharma’s Instagram Stories lit up the internet when he said, “@thedalermehndiofficial paaji went through some serious surgery which people don’t know.” He urged everyone to be kinder, hinting that the singer’s health saga had gone largely unnoticed. The actor’s post was quick, but it set the stage for a larger conversation about how the press treats star reputations.

Mika Singh’s video message followed, in which he called out the false narrative head‑on. He posted, “If you ever see Daler Mehndi drinking alcohol, I’ll quit singing.” The singer reminded followers that Daler has been a superstar for 30 years and that no one has ever seen him raise a glass onstage. Singh even compared the situation to a 104‑degree fever, saying an artist would still deliver a set if the show was booked.

The root of the uproar began at the Kunjapuri Fair on Oct. 18, when Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal stormed the stage and accused Daler of performing after drinking at a Maa Durga event. The singer, who has been battling health issues for two years, continued the set without missing a beat, a fact that many fans saw as a testament to his resilience. The minister’s onstage attack was broadcast to millions, leaving the audience stunned.

In the aftermath, the music community rallied. Kapil and Mika demanded that media verify facts before publishing. Critics pointed out that a headline can damage a star’s reputation overnight, and that a 30‑year legacy like Daler’s deserves a fair hearing. The episode underscores a timeless truth: celebrity gossip can be weaponized, but a united front of peers can restore dignity.
