Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is launching the Commercial Asset Management Platform (CAMP), a centralised digital system to track non-fare revenue from commercial assets citywide. The platform will consolidate data on rentals from stalls, open spaces, advertisement spaces, towers, ATMs, and other properties currently managed separately across depots and zones.
The system will provide real-time visibility into revenue generation, demand, and collection status at the organisational level, with drill-down access from the central office to individual assets. Officials said the platform will help identify underutilised assets and revenue shortfalls, improving transparency and operational efficiency in commercial operations.
The project includes development, implementation, and commissioning of the software, a mobile application, and hosting services. The selected vendor will maintain the system and implement upgrades as needed. BMTC currently generates significant non-traffic revenue, earning ₹811 crore in 2023-24 from land leases, terminal rentals, and bus advertisements.
With BMTC operating 6,158 buses across Bengaluru, including 1,027 electric units, the corporation relies on commercial income to offset operational costs. The new platform is part of broader efforts to deploy IT systems for better financial and asset management.
The system is expected to go live following vendor selection and development, with officials stating that implementation and ongoing maintenance will be managed under a long-term service contract.
