LAC argues the petition was assigned to a particular bench, ignoring the established roster, a move that signals preferential treatment and erodes public trust. The letter also complains that the live broadcast of the hearing was muted, denying the public access to the proceedings. Surya Kant has yet to respond, but the Supreme Court is expected to review its bench allocation rules in the coming days, potentially setting a new precedent for judicial impartiality.
