Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the 15-year-old cricketer, has scripted history by becoming the youngest player to smash 100 T20 sixes before turning 20, and the fastest to reach this milestone in terms of balls faced, with only 514 deliveries. He surpassed Kieron Pollard's record of 843 balls during Rajasthan Royals' clash against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on Saturday.
Sooryavanshi achieved the landmark in style, hitting a six over long-on off the first ball he faced from Mohammed Siraj, and went on to score 36 off 16 balls with three fours and three sixes.
The record came during a challenging match for Rajasthan Royals, with Gujarat Titans posting 229/4, led by notable performances from Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan.
The milestone holds extra significance as it came against the same team, Gujarat Titans, against whom Sooryavanshi had announced his arrival in the cricketing world with a 35-ball century last season.
The immediate outlook for Sooryavanshi and Rajasthan Royals will be to build on this achievement and focus on their upcoming matches in the IPL 2026, with the team looking to improve their standings in the tournament.
