Suspended TCS Employee Nida Khan Arrested in Nashik Rape and Exploitation Case

Suspended TCS employee Nida Khan was arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar late Thursday in connection with a rape and sexual exploitation case registered in Nashik over 40 days ago. The arrest was carried out by a joint team comprising the Nashik SIT, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Crime Branch, and local police commissioner's office. Assistant Commissioner of Police Sandip Mitke, who leads the Nashik SIT, confirmed her custody and stated that legal procedures were underway.
Khan is accused of involvement in the sexual assault of a 23-year-old woman who alleged that Khan pressured her to adopt Islamic practices, including reciting Kalma, observing Roza, and changing her clothing. Police have invoked sections of the Prevention of Atrocities Act in the case. Prosecutors opposed her anticipatory bail, citing her alleged links to Malaysia and Malegaon, leading a Nashik court to deny relief last week.
Authorities said custodial interrogation is necessary to establish the full extent of Khan's role and any accomplices. Police are also examining digital evidence and communication records. The court will take up the remand hearing on Friday, and formal charges are expected to follow.
