L&T’s PT&D unit announced a basket of contracts totaling ₹15,000 crore, pushing its share price 1.5% higher to ₹3,730.5 on Monday, a modest lift amid a 10% year‑to‑date slide.
Joji Sebastian, Executive Vice President – PT&D, said the orders demonstrate the unit’s engineering breadth and execution reach, covering 380 kV transmission projects in Saudi Arabia, 132/11 kV substations in the UAE, and a Visakhapatnam transmission system for a private developer in India.
The domestic and Gulf wins come as the power sector’s push for grid strengthening and renewable integration accelerates; analysts note that L&T’s order book now dwarfs the sector average of roughly ₹5,000 crore for comparable projects.
L&T’s CFO, Sanjay Bhatia, highlighted that the company is positioned to capture 15% of the expanding renewable‑transmission market, and that the new contracts will underpin a projected 12% YoY growth in the PT&D revenue stream for the fiscal year.
Market participants now view the announcement as a bullish sign for L&T’s infrastructure arm, with analysts adjusting their price targets upward and anticipating the next earnings release in March to confirm the segment’s momentum.
