Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Hyderabad on May 10, 2025, launching infrastructure projects and addressing a public meeting at Parade Grounds attended by over 75,000 people, according to police estimates. The event marked one of the largest VVIP security operations in the city in recent months.
Authorities deployed more than 2,600 police personnel across Hyderabad and Secunderabad, securing key junctions, flyovers, Metro stations, and access routes. The Malkajgiri Police Commissioner, B. Sumathi, confirmed that approximately 65,000 people were inside Parade Grounds during the rally, with an additional 10,000 to 15,000 gathered outside the venue.
Modi inaugurated Sindhu Hospital in Hitec City and several infrastructure projects before the evening rally. Police reported no major disruptions to traffic despite large-scale diversions, crediting inter-departmental coordination for smooth movement of commuters and attendees.
Around 2,000 buses and over 2,000 two-wheelers entered the city for the event, with 14 designated parking zones established. Public transport, especially the Parade Grounds Metro station, saw heavy but manageable footfall as supporters arrived in waves.
Police officials said all security arrangements were withdrawn by late night, and normalcy returned to the city by early morning. No incidents were reported during the visit.
