Harlem’s Fashion Row and Mattel unveiled the Cherry Blossom Couture Collection, a line of four outfits for 18‑inch American Girl dolls, crafted by 11‑year‑old Brooke Sumpter.
The collection features oversized bows, denim, pastel tones and cherry blossom embroidery. The first look, a white puff‑sleeved shirt topped with a pink satin bow, pairs with a denim skirt embroidered with cherry blossoms. The second, a blue knit dress with gradient mesh and a detachable skirt, comes with denim booties and a varsity jacket finished with a pink satin bow.
The third ensemble is a full‑denim set with a double‑breathed jacket, pink satin bow, pink booties and flared jeans, while the fourth showcases a denim puff‑sleeved top, Mary Janes and a pastel‑pink layered mesh skirt.
The line extends to a matching dress for children, featuring ruffled shoulders, a blue bodice and gradient mesh, allowing young fans to coordinate their style with their dolls.
Pamela Velarde, Vice President and Head of American Girl, said the partnership reflects the brand’s legacy of celebrating girls’ stories and highlights its commitment to nurturing creativity as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Brandice Daniel, Founder and CEO of Harlem’s Fashion Row, praised Sumpter’s journey, noting that seeing an 11‑year‑old design for an iconic brand underscores the importance of giving young creatives a platform.
