Telangana Government Repatriates 16 Gurukul Teachers from Administrative Deputations
The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) has revoked the extended deputations of approximately 16 teachers currently serving in administrative roles at its head office and other units. Acting on orders from Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, TGSWREIS Secretary (FAC) Sharada issued directives on Thursday for their immediate repatriation to original teaching positions in Gurukul institutions across the state.
The decision comes amid growing concerns over acute teacher shortages in Gurukul schools, where students have faced disruptions in classroom instruction. Several teachers had remained on deputation for prolonged periods, prompting complaints from teachers' unions and academic staff about inequitable distribution of personnel.
The Welfare Minister initiated corrective action after receiving multiple representations highlighting the adverse impact on education delivery. The repatriation aims to strengthen teaching staff in classrooms where shortages are most acute. Teacher unions have welcomed the move, calling it a necessary step toward restoring academic standards.
TGSWREIS officials confirmed the orders have been issued and compliance is expected promptly, with the minister's office set to review implementation in the coming week.
