The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has scheduled a complete halt to drinking water supply across multiple residential and commercial zones starting October 23, 2026, at 10 am. The shutdown will last until 10 am the following day, October 24. Authorities cited the need to construct a new pump house at the Boosting Station in Sector 16 as the primary reason for the 24-hour disruption.
The impact is widespread. The outage will affect major tech and residential hubs, including Cyber City, DLF Phase IV, Udyog Vihar Phases I to V, and Sushant Lok. Other affected sectors include 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, and 43. Rural and semi-urban areas like Village Basai, Kadipur, Sarhol, and Nathupur are also on the notice list.
GMDA issued the public notice on Wednesday, urging residents to plan ahead. "All residents in these areas are advised to use water judiciously to avoid complete dry conditions," officials stated. With no alternative supply lines mentioned for the duration of the construction work, households and businesses in these sectors will rely entirely on stored water for the full 24-hour period.
The water supply is expected to resume normal operations by 10 am on October 24, 2026. Residents should monitor local GMDA updates for any changes to the timeline.
