Petronet LNG’s Q4 net profit fell 15.4% to ₹1,113 crore, a sharp reversal from the ₹1,338 crore March quarter.
Revenue plunged 41.2% YoY to ₹5,554 crore from ₹9,442 crore, while EBITDA slid 17.7% to ₹1,532 crore, yet the EBITDA margin jumped to 27.6% from 19.7%.
Despite the slide, the company announced a 50:50 joint venture with Gruner Renewable Energy to build ten 18‑tonne-per‑day CBG plants, a ₹1,200‑crore project that could diversify its asset base.
Analysts had forecast a 12% net profit decline; the results missed expectations by 3 percentage points, and the sector has seen a 10% average margin increase this quarter.
Petronet LNG will report FY27 full‑year results on November 20, with management hinting at a modest upside as the JV progresses; shares closed 0.67% higher at ₹284.
