A 14-year-old boy, T.P. Muhammad, died on Friday morning after falling into a well in Kannur while trying to retrieve a football. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. when children were playing football and the ball accidentally fell into a nearby well, prompting Muhammad to climb down and attempt to retrieve it.
According to witnesses, Muhammad lost his grip midway and fell into the well, sustaining serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.
The deceased was a Class IX student of GHSS, Koyyam.
The incident is under investigation, and local authorities have begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The family of the deceased is expected to receive support and assistance from local authorities in the coming days.
