The Haryana government unveiled plans for five greenfield cities on the KMP Expressway in June 2026, covering 2.5 lakh hectares to absorb Delhi’s overflow population.
The initiative, originally conceived in 2018 by former BJP chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, was revived under CM Nayab Singh Saini, who has already formed the Panchgram Development Authority to steer the project.
Connectivity will be a cornerstone: Delhi, Gurugram and Faridabad metros will extend, the high‑speed Namo Bharat RRTS will link the new towns to the capital, and a 35.25‑km metro corridor with 28 stations between Gurugram and Panchgaon is slated.
Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, said the corridor will mirror Singapore’s city‑planning model, aiming to attract industrial investment and create a modern urban hub.
The state has already approved five Industrial Model Townships; three of the forthcoming ones will tie directly into the KMP corridor, and a high‑level delegation will visit Singapore soon to study the model in person.
