SEBI has issued a circular demanding 100% of registered brokers display investor‑awareness messages and risk disclosures on their websites, with a compliance deadline of March 2027.
The directive, dated October 1, outlines a phased rollout: from October 5 to 31 brokers must post the messages on their sites, while app display remains optional; from November 1 the messages become mandatory on the landing page and alternate‑day on apps.
SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey warned against blind following of tips, saying, “Invest because you understand, not because others do.” The campaign will run in 13 languages across TV, print, radio, cinema, digital and WhatsApp.
The accompanying education arm, Samajh Se Investing Simple, offers seven modules totalling 3 hours 39 minutes, covering everything from money‑management basics to securities markets, mutual funds, direct equity, bonds, tax, and fraud protection. Access is free and mobile‑friendly, with no registration required.
For brokers, the new rules mean an uptick in compliance costs and a shift in marketing strategy, while investors benefit from clearer disclosures and a structured learning path. SEBI may later extend the mandate to trading apps in March 2027, tightening the regulatory environment.
