Three Arrested in Kerala for Forging Organ Donation Documents

Kunnathunad police have arrested three individuals in Ernakulam district, Kerala, in connection with a suspected organ trafficking ring involving forged organ donation documents in two separate cases. The accused are identified as Sunny Varghese, 56, his wife Sini Varghese, 50, and Sanoj K.P., 32; three others—Najeeb Kallatra, Rasheeda, and Asif—are absconding.
Police registered the cases suo motu following a tip-off and allege that the suspects forged letterheads of two major Ernakulam hospitals, including doctors' names and seals, along with blank letterheads bearing the name of former Uduma MLA C.H. Kunhambu and affidavits in the name of Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden. Najeeb Kallatra, named as the main accused in both cases, allegedly provided details for the fake documents, which were produced at a computer center operated by the Vargheses in Pallikkara.
The accused are alleged to have fabricated documents to falsely authorize organ donations, with Sanoj K.P. and others acting as accomplices. The police have charged the arrested individuals with forgery under Sections 336 and 340 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The arrested trio were produced before a judicial court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. Police have intensified efforts to locate and apprehend the three absconding suspects.
